Do You Have A Rule Of Life? Maybe You Should
As followers of Christ we are supposed to be disciples. Being a disciple implies being disciplined. Most of us are not as disciplined as we will like to be.
One way of growing in discipline is the use of a Rule of Life. To find out about what exactly is a rule of life, and to find out how you can have one, listen to the podcast above.
Are You Praying For Something & Nothing Has Happened Yet?
Listen to “Have You Ever Prayed for Something & Not Receive It?” on Spreaker.
Sometimes it seems like we pray and pray forever and what we pray for never comes. It can be frustrating and painful. I certainly can frustrating and the enemy knows it. However, as believers we can not give up. We have to pray, pray and then some.
The podcast above talks about prayer and about how to stay encouraged during those difficult times when we pray and it feels as if out prayer is not being heard or answered. Please listen to it and share it with as many people as you can. May God continue to bless you.
A great portent appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. 2She was pregnant and was crying out in birthpangs, in the agony of giving birth. 3Then another portent appeared in heaven: a great red dragon, with seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads. 4His tail swept down a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. Then the dragon stood before the woman who was about to bear a child, so that he might devour her child as soon as it was born. 5And she gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron. But her child was snatched away and taken to God and to his throne; 6and the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, so that there she can be nourished for one thousand two hundred sixty days. The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.
O children of Zion, be glad
and rejoice in the Lord your God;
for he has given the early rain for your vindication,
he has poured down for you abundant rain,
the early and the later rain, as before.
The threshing floors shall be full of grain,
the vats shall overflow with wine and oil.
I will repay you for the years
that the swarming locust has eaten,
the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter,
my great army, which I sent against you.
You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied,
and praise the name of the Lord your God,
who has dealt wondrously with you.
And my people shall never again be put to shame.
You shall know that I am in the midst of Israel,
and that I, the Lord, am your God and there is no other.
And my people shall never again
be put to shame.
I will pour out my spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your old men shall dream dreams,
and your young men shall see visions.
Even on the male and female slaves,
in those days, I will pour out my spirit.
I will show portents in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and columns of smoke. The sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes. Then everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved; for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be those who escape, as the Lord has said, and among the survivors shall be those whom the Lord calls.
As I sit here and ponder about all the suffering that guns have caused to innocent Americans in recent years, I wonder, where is Christ in all this? After all, as a believer of Christ I should filter everything through Jesus. So as a Christian I wonder, on which side of this heated debate should I be on?
I have held guns and other weapons that use ballistics in my hands before. I have read the descriptions that illustrate how powerful a gun is and how accurate it can be. So, I am well aware of what guns and rifles are mainly used for. They are meant to kill. They are meant to inflict deadly force on an enemy or adversary. They are not meant to be collected unless one is a museum, or as a purely for hunting device since there are other methods to hunt. They are not a toy to be given to children as birthday presents, or as a wedding gifts to people. Guns are serious business. Dead serious.
Hence, as a man who by the mercy of Christ has given his life to ministry, I just do not see how a believer in Christ can be so adamant about possessing such a destructive tool as a gun. Guns are an instrument of death, nothing else about it. That unbelievers are so full of fear, to the point that they feel the need to use an instrument of death to protect their earthly life is understandable. However, those who have their eyes set on the things above should not be attached to earthly living, and should know that no one can kill them. After all, those who believe in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life in Christ Jesus. Amen!

12 ‘Tell me. Suppose a man has a hundred sheep and one of them strays; will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hillside and go in search of the stray?
13 In truth I tell you, if he finds it, it gives him more joy than do the ninety-nine that did not stray at all.
14 Similarly, it is never the will of your Father in heaven that one of these little ones should be lost.
Psalms 23:1-3, 3-4, 5, 6
1 [Psalm Of David] Yahweh is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 In grassy meadows he lets me lie. By tranquil streams he leads me
3 to restore my spirit. He guides me in paths of saving justice as befits his name.
4 Even were I to walk in a ravine as dark as death I should fear no danger, for you are at my side. Your staff and your crook are there to soothe me.
5 You prepare a table for me under the eyes of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup brims over.
6 Kindness and faithful love pursue me every day of my life. I make my home in the house of Yahweh for all time to come.
35 ‘See that you have your belts done up and your lamps lit.
36 Be like people waiting for their master to return from the wedding feast, ready to open the door as soon as he comes and knocks.
37 Blessed those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes. In truth I tell you, he will do up his belt, sit them down at table and wait on them.
38 It may be in the second watch that he comes, or in the third, but blessed are those servants if he finds them ready.

Psalms 85:9-10, 11-12, 13-14
9 His saving help is near for those who fear him, his glory will dwell in our land.
10 Faithful Love and Loyalty join together, Saving Justice and Peace embrace.
11 Loyalty will spring up from the earth, and Justice will lean down from heaven.
12 Yahweh will himself give prosperity, and our soil will yield its harvest.
13 Justice will walk before him, treading out a path.

12 do not forget, I say, that you were at that time separate from Christ and excluded from membership of Israel, aliens with no part in the covenants of the Promise, limited to this world, without hope and without God.
13 But now in Christ Jesus, you that used to be so far off have been brought close, by the blood of Christ.
14 For he is the peace between us, and has made the two into one entity and broken down the barrier which used to keep them apart, by destroying in his own person the hostility,
15 that is, the Law of commandments with its decrees. His purpose in this was, by restoring peace, to create a single New Man out of the two of them,
16 and through the cross, to reconcile them both to God in one Body; in his own person he killed the hostility.
17 He came to bring the good news of peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near.
18 Through him, then, we both in the one Spirit have free access to the Father.
19 So you are no longer aliens or foreign visitors; you are fellow-citizens with the holy people of God and part of God’s household.
20 You are built upon the foundations of the apostles and prophets, and Christ Jesus himself is the cornerstone.
21 Every structure knit together in him grows into a holy temple in the Lord;
22 and you too, in him, are being built up into a dwelling-place of God in the Spirit.
